We have recently arrived home from a trip to Hong Kong where we have met with our builders to talk about existing projects as well as new ones.
Sadly we have decided to cancel our C-16 project. It is simply too complicated to be mass produced and assembled.
We gave this project to three of our finest builders with no success. Trying to approach the project with some new ideas about making the frame, boiler, and tender floor as die cast parts, using our detail parts. The cost was prohibitive and we felt there were too many compromises. We would not be able to keep the individual details we demand.
In the end we decided to drop the project because we will not make a model that does not match the detail and quality that the rest of our line represents.
With the loss of this project we apologize for any disappointments. We have updates on other projects you have been waiting for as well as adding some exciting new projects we hope you will welcome.
Our Code 100 #6 switches will start to arrive in July 2008.
The On3/On30 Long Caboose Ready to Run car will be arriving in July 2008.
We will be making 3’ Flex Track to match the switches. Price TBA. If there is a demand we will make sectional track as well.
The Gramps tank car is on track for this year. The price will be $ 89.95. We hope to have test shots on display at the Narrow Gauge Convention in Portland, Oregon, in September. This project will be followed with the UTLX narrow frame tank car in 2009.
We are proud to announce the first passenger cars in the San Juan Car line. To start with we will offer three variations of the 280/318 coaches to be followed by the 212 combination cars. Multiple paint schemes and numbers. The projected price is $129.95 and again we hope to have test shots on display at the Narrow Gauge Convention.
We are working on a new kit for our line, the D&RGW Peaked Roof Long Caboose. It has been designed, tooled, and produced in house. We will have this completed this summer.
